Dave completed his B.Sc. degree at the University of Guelph in 1992 with a major in Animal Nutrition.  Dave went on to pursue his M.S. degree in Dairy Cattle Nutrition at West Virginia University from 1993 - 1995.  His area of research was rumen nitrogen metabolism with work conducted in continuous culture.  Studies were designed to compare sources of rumen soluble protein and their effect on rumen microbial growth.  Dave obtained a Ph.D. in Dairy Cattle Nutrition at Ohio State University from 1995 - 1999.  His desired area of research was fish oil and immunology.  Several trials were completed testing the effects of omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil on milk composition and neutrophil function.  After completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Jones joined Agri-King as a Ruminant Nutritionist.

Dr. BrownDr. Pat Brown

Pat graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Animal Science in 1974.  After graduation, he joined Hudson Cattle Company as manager of their swine unit.  In 1986, he resumed his education at the University of Tennessee, where he received his MS in Animal Science in 1988.  He then entered the Animal and Poultry Sciences Department at Virginia Tech, where he received his Ph.D. in 1991.  From 1991 to 1993 he was employed as an analyst by the Food and Drug Administration, within the Swine and Poultry Drugs Branch.  Dr. Brown joined Agri-King in 1993 as a Swine and Poultry Nutritionist.

Dr. GengelbachDr. Gene Gengelbach

Gene was raised on a diversified livestock and crop farm near Plattsburg, in northwest Missouri.  After graduating from the University of Missouri he returned to the family farm, and later worked as assistant sales manager of a local fertilizer/feed store.  He resumed his education in 1988, receiving his MS in Animal Science from the University of Missouri in 1990, and his Ph.D. in Nutrition from North Carolina State University in 1994.  Since then, he has worked as a forage/dairy nutrition specialist in northwest Ohio and as forage marketing manager for a major seed and silage inoculant company in Iowa.  He also served as a Dairy Nutritionist in the Madison, Wisconsin area before joining Agri-King in 2009.

Dr. KleinschmitDr. Daryl Kleinschmit

Daryl was raised on a general livestock (dairy, hogs, & beef) and crop farm near Bow Valley, NE.  He spent three years working in the Ruminant Nutrition Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as an undergraduate researcher while earning his B.S. degree in 2000.  He received his M.S. degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware in 2003, conducting research on silage fermentation and preservation.  His Ph.D. (2006) research at South Dakota State University pertained to utilizing distillers grains in rations for dairy cattle.  Dr. Kleinschmit joined Agri-King in 2006 as a consulting Dairy & Beef Nutritionist.  His primary responsibilities involve nutrition consulting for clients, applied research and development of products and nutritional concepts, and technical training of the sales force.

Dr. LankaDr. K.E. "Ed" Lanka

Ed grew up on a cattle ranch in the sand hills of central Nebraska.  After earning a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska, he worked as a chemist at the Nebraska State Agriculture Laboratory.  He then completed an M.S. degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.  He did applied nutrition studies with Oregon State University and was a University of California Cooperative Extension Dairy Farm Advisor in the Central Valley of California before returning to the Midwest as a dairy nutritionist.  Since 1994, Dr. Lanka has worked with direct sales feed companies as a technical nutritionist and sales trainer.  He has written more than 150 scientific and popular press publications and articles.  In 2005 he joined Agri-King as a Dairy Nutritionist.

Dr. SchauffDr. Dan Schauff

Dan was raised on a 30-cow dairy farm near Deer Grove, IL.  His father was an Agri-King client in the late 1970's and early 1980's.  After attending Sauk Valley Community College, Dan obtained his BS in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1985.  He received his M.S. degree in Dairy Science from the University of Illinois in 1988 and his Ph.D. in 1991.  Dr. Schauff joined Agri-King as a Nutritionist in 1992.  He lives near Sterling, IL with his wife and two children.

Dr. James CoomerDr. James Coomer

James was raised in South central Kentucky on a beef cattle farm where he raised and exhibited registered Simmental cattle. He attended Western Kentucky University, were he earned a BS degree in Ag Education (1988) and an MS degree (1989) in animal nutrition. He then attended the University of Georgia where he earned a PhD (1992) in dairy cattle nutrition. He then spent 6 years working for a major feed company in field technical support in KY, IN and OH and then three years in research for that same company. James spent three years as a state dairy extension specialist at the University of Missouri. Following his time at MO, James spent 7 years working in the upper Midwest (WI, MN, MI) in the area of brewing and ethanol co-product marketing. Dr. Coomer joined Agri-King in 2012 as a Dairy Nutritionist.

Dr. AyangbileDr. Gbenga Ayangbile

Gbenga is the Vice President of Research and Laboratory Services at Agri-King.  Gbenga received his Veterinary of Science Degree in Nigeria.  He earned his BS in Animal Agriculture at Fort Valley State University in Georgia.  He received his MS in Animal Sciences and his Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition both from Virginia Tech in 1989.  He worked as a Research Scientist at Virginia Tech from 1991-1993.  In 1993 he joined Agri-King as a Research Microbiologist.  He helped develop the artificial rumens, the only known kind in the world now surviving since 1994.

Dave graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Microbiology in 1986.  After graduation, Dave joined the research staff at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Medical Research Center in Iowa City.  In 1988 Dave joined Agri-King where his focus was forage research including Silo-King research and development.  Later, Dave expanded his research into the areas of enhancing ruminal and intestinal function and feed digestibility via the utilization of microbial and enzymatic solutions.  Dave is currently the Director of Research & Development at Agri-King.

Jeff HorstJeff Horst

Jeff grew up on a cow-calf and feeder pig operation in Sabula, IA.  While attending Clinton Community College, Jeff began working part-time for Analab.  After graduating from college, Jeff began his career with Analab as a Quality Control Technician.  He was promoted to NIR Development Specialist and then to his current position as Laboratory Production Manager.  Jeff resides in Clinton, IA with his wife Jennifer and three children.

Lola ManningLola Manning

Lola was raised on a dairy farm so she felt at home when she joined Agri-King over 30 years ago.  She has worked in many different departments within Agri-King, including the ration department and working as a computer programmer.  As a programmer, she was responsible for the Laboratory programs and assisted in writing the Dairy Ration Balancing program.  She has served as Laboratory Data Coordinator since 2000.  In her current capacity, she attends trade shows representing Analab, works with lab data and calculations, is the contact for Analab business and is responsible for Mycotoxin assay and results.
